Sir Robin Knox-Johnston in Route Du Rhum

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston has left Portsmouth on his Open 60 ‘Grey Power’ headed to France to complete in the French classic race Route Du Rhum – destination Guadeloupe. At 75 years of age he will be the oldest sailor competing.  “I am fit, I feel very strong and I am eager to get out there,” said Knox-Johnston.

Knox – Johnston is returning to solo racing and competing in the 3500 mile Transatlantic race having enjoyed the 2013 Rolex Sydney Hobart Race with Clipper race crew.
