One of the most frequently asked questions our office team get is if there is an age limit or restriction on being able to go out on the Ribs. There are no restrictions or limits for chartering with us and people of all ages are welcome to join us out on the water!
However, with that said, we do have a few safety measures based on age that can be slightly restrictive. The first is that we have lifejackets for children over the age of 4, if they are any younger they will need to provide their own that has been specifically fitted to them. Normally this is an easy barrier to pass as most marinas have a chandlers nearby where you can pick up a child’s life jacket for around £20.
At the other end of the scale, you’re never too old to enjoy a day on the water, although we will always warn our clients that the boats aren’t suitable for those with; neck, back, hip, foot or knee problems or anyone who is pregnant. This is because we can’t always guarantee what the conditions will be like meaning the Ribs could be subject to significant shock loads if they land heavily.
We ensure that we operate our charters to the highest safety standards as guided by the Code of Practice published by the Professional Charter Association (PCA). We never wish to discourage anyone from enjoying a day out with us on the water but will always hold our clients safety above all else.
