The most important commercial shipping port on the South Coast, Southampton Water is alive with liners, oil tankers, container ships, car transporters, tug boats and high speed ferries, all vying for water space with tall ships, yachts, powerboats and Ribs.
A great departure point for Rib charter or bareboat Rib charter (without a skipper), Southampton is at the centre of the Solent giving easy access to all of the most popular destinations.
The Ribs are positioned in Ocean Village Marina, Southampton's principal marina, a short distance from the city centre as well as home to the Royal Southampton Yacht Club.
Southampton has historically been the venue for many of the major maritime events that take place from time to time (not least the annual boat show). Recently the Clipper around the world race departed with much fanfare from Southampton with an aircraft carrier escort. We had several Ribs centre stage.
