The most attractive of the major UK commercial Ports, Portsmouth is best known for its historic ships, unspoilt Georgian dockyards, Royal Naval surface fleet and the exciting Gunwharf Quay / Spinnaker Tower development.
A great departure point for Rib charter or bareboat Rib charter (without a skipper), Portsmouth is well placed within the Eastern Solent with excellent access to many of the most popular destinations.
The harbour itself is interesting, well worth a tour to see the fleet, dockyards, commercial port and the upper reaches to Portchester Castle and Port Solent Marina, to say nothing of the three imposing Palmerston forts guarding the approaches.
The Ribs are positioned in Gunwharf Quay or just as easily Gosport / Haslar marinas on the Eastern side of the harbour.
